BROADWAY BOUND

FROM THE WEST COAST TO THE EAST COAST

♫♪♫♪ What a wonderful world  ♫♪♫♪  .....  In five hours you can go from Los Angeles, California to New York City.  

The entertainment business is all the same but vastly different from one coast to the other.  Karmyn did a lot of TV Shows and TV Commercials as well as movies and industrial films.  In Monrovia, she performed 2 shows a week on Friday night and Saturday night at the Cafe' Opera and had a great following....

.... Then........  some blonde California Surfer boy came along, married her and took her off to Manhattan, the land of her dreams.  It took me a little while but I realized that Christopher loved her as much as her dad and I did and he wanted her to realize her dream of "being on Broadway"....  He was very selective in getting an apartment in a safe neighborhood that was more like home and settled in Inwood which is as far as you can be and still be in Manhattan.  They even have a "forest" .....There is a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and a year round Farmers Market that is a necessity for two "health nuts"...  

Thank goodness that Karmyn received her equity card when she performed in Camelot at Casa Manna in Fort Worth, Texas.....  It is not easy getting auditions in New York but having your equity card makes it a lot more accessible.   

The most amazing thing for me is that she found this wonderful voice teacher named Tanya who just happens to be the voice genius for Idina Menzel.  In a few short months, Karmyn has gone from being a performer to being a "real performer" vocally.   Diane and I listened to the first tape she did at age 10 and then we listened to another one when she became 12 and we thought, wow, we thought she was good in the first one but this is amazing.......  Well, that's what I thought when she sung for me a few weeks ago.....  wow, the belt notes are amazing and the high notes are beyond anything I could have ever hoped for or prayed for even though, I did pray for a concert pianist..... now that is another story altogether... ha ha  She is growing vocally and feeling comfortable in her "own skin"...

She is performing in Brooklyn in August and I know she will amaze the New York audience just like she did the Los Angeles audience.

I am really excited because I know she is living her dream and maybe, just maybe, she is very close to arriving to where she always wanted to be....... performing on  BROADWAY
