AGAINST ALL ODDS(We Found The Perfect Love)

Listening to Marty Robbins sing Story of My Life with Odis in 1958,  I never dreamed 57 years later I would be attempting to write the story of my life with him.   After a 15 year separation, he took me as his wife and my real life story starts and ends with him. This is my edition of the ‘rest of the story’!

“I'll tell about the night we first met!  How my heart will never forget the way you smiled at me or the initial moment your lips met mine. I’ll tell about the first exciting time you held me close and told me you loved me.  Then I will add the sorrow and memory of my broken heart when our love was separated.  Joyously, I will write of our meeting again 15 years later and the happiness of finding you never ever to part.  I want the world to know the ‘story of my life’  and hear your words,  "There is only one more thing I must do before my time on earth is through, I have to make you my wife. Then the real story of my life will start and end with you!”

It is said that  "Love Makes The World Go Around"!   We all love to enter the world of ‘hearing a love song’ as it brings happiness and feelings of joy ...

The words of a love song can bring a tear or a smile!  It can give two lovers a chance for a beautiful romance or be a goodbye that will cause a heart to be broken.  Getting lost in a word or a phrase can tear you apart or it can begin a new love!  It can  make a world of make believe or create a harsh reality.   

Odis wrote, “As long as I have breath in my body, I will do anything to make all your dreams come true. God brought us together and it was a miracle we found each other again. You will never find a love as true as my love is for you.”   He ended many of our phone conversations and some letters with  “I pray for you all the time and love you the most, cross my heart!”
