The Perils of Facebook

There is a caption going around on FaceBook that "you know you are getting old when you accept your parents friendship request on facebook".....   Well, both of my parents were deceased by the time facebook was "birthed" but I am friends with my two daughters and two granddaughters.  I  had been a really big fan of MySpace because all of the podcasters were on it.  My youngest daughter, Karmyn, had set me up a facebook account but I never had done anything with it...  Finally, so many of my friends were doing the Face Book thingy that I "took the plunge" and loved it....


I really thought that I could keep an eye on my two granddaughters (like they would put the real bad stuff on fb) but it became so much fun for me.... I loved it....  It gave me a chance to be funny and witty and anything else I wanted to be..  ha ha


UNTIL, last week I really messed up.....  My oldest daughter, Diane,  had commented on a picture that I had posted of how we used to talk into a fan for a "robotic sounding voice"....  She said she liked to do "I am Luke Skywalker and you are my father" in reference to the Star Wars movie....  I saw this picture of Darth Vader that said   "I Will Not Be Your Father" sooooooo, I posted it on her wall since she was such a fan of Star Wars and had made the comment about Luke Skywalker!  


I noticed that some of my "conservative" friends were saying "Suzie, Suzie, Suzie" and I thought whaty, whaty, whaty??   So I picked up the phone while at the mall and called Diane and said. "Did you see the picture I posted on your wall" and she sorta laughed and said "Yes, but I have been running around and haven't had time to post on it"  I said "some people are making comments like it is a a bad picture...... is it?"  She said "Muther, it is a picture of a 'condom' "....  I almost died as she fell out in the floor laughing....


So after that little "sex education experience",  I now have to run my pictures by her first...  ha ha 


Moral of this experience for senior citizens is.....  Check carefully before posting on your status!!
